ProVision drives away with the GM contract for business modeling tools

Southfield, MI, April 8, 2002 -- Proforma Corporation, the leading provider of enterprise-wide modeling and simulation tools, has been selected as the supplier of business process modeling tools for General Motors worldwide. The ProVision Workbench PC-based software provides a comprehensive set of modelers that support the process design standards at General Motors, including capturing and sharing business process and functional requirements for system development. In addition to selecting ProVision Workbench, GM also selected Proforma’s BOSS and WebVision products for enterprise-wide model management and administration and distributing models across the enterprise via the web.

According to General Motors, Business Units across all regions of the globe are developing process models in an effort to better define their operations, and in many cases define requirements that lead to systems development projects. General Motors, after completing an extensive evaluation of industry leading enterprise and business process modeling tools, selected Proforma’s ProVision Workbench to provide a complete set of capabilities for capturing business requirements and effectively managing the communication for process change and down-stream system requirements development.

Hugh Mensch, Vice President of Business Development at Proforma Corporation, reflects on the decision by saying, "The General Motors team completed a rigorous evaluation process and chose ProVision Workbench. They focused on maximizing the benefits of a relationship between our companies well beyond the traditional ‘vendor-supplier’ arrangements of the past. This has resulted in a very positive partnership between our companies."
