for business and IT

Southfield, MI, June, 1999 -- Proforma Corporation, a software and consulting services company, announces the release of ProGuide, a "Best Practices" methodology for doing BPR, business requirements analysis and application development projects. ProGuide helps project managers, business modelers, and developers define the "who, what, where, when, why, and how" necessary for effective BPR, analysis and development projects.

ProGuide combines the best practices of leading BPR, analysis and design approaches with a comprehensive set of Proforma’s best practices models. These models, stored within Proforma’s industry leading business modeling tool ProVision Workbench, will guide you through the complexities of business process analysis, object modeling, gap analysis and distributed development. Because the ProGuide methodology is stored as a set of business models in ProVision, ProGuide customers are able to refine and evolve them to accommodate their own best practices as appropriate to their organization.

According to Brian James, Chief Methodologist at Proforma Corporation: "ProGuide is designed to improve the communication and cooperation between business and IT project participants. Projects employing business process and object modeling approaches will be more stable, predictable and repeatable. Following the techniques within ProGuide ensures high-quality project deliverables. By housing ProGuide within ProVision Workbench, a single point of control for best practices and enterprise standards is provided, allowing the organization to continuously improve both business-driven development processes and deliverables."

ProGuide will be available in June, 1999. ProGuide will be licensed on an enterprise-wide basis.
