Proforma Achieves Record Revenues, Income in FY 2003

SOUTHFIELD, MI August 11, 2003 -- Proforma Corporation, the leading US provider of enterprise-wide business process modeling and simulation software, strengthened its industry position by achieving record-high revenues and net income for the fourth quarter and fiscal year that ended June 30, 2003.

Having secured major new customers such as Intel, Hewlett Packard, Delta Technologies, Unisys, Wells Fargo Bank, the IRS, and Lexmark International, Proforma’s sales of its ProVision modeling suite broke all previous records with an increase of 40 percent compared to fiscal year 2002. Additionally, Proforma’s new software licenses increased by 97 percent when compared to the previous year.

"In this challenging market, closing the best fiscal year in our company's history is evidence that our business strategy is working and that our momentum is strong," said Ron Pellegrino, president, Proforma Corporation. “We continue to increase our leadership position throughout the US and the world by producing the best products and services for improving business processes and systems.” The growing need for business process management (BPM) solutions is confirmed by Gartner Research’s Jim Sinur, vice president and distinguished analyst, and Jess Thompson, research director.

“Because BPM delivers solid ROI (return on investment) and both short-term and long-term VOI (value on investment), we expect the business to gravitate to its use, and we expect process optimization to become a habit in many enterprises, driven by compliance acts and quality initiatives such as Six Sigma projects. In addition, we anticipate that many enterprises will use streamlined processes as a competitive weapon in the marketplace,” according to Sinur and Thompson, “The Business Process Management Scenario,” June 2, 2003.

To support this increasing demand, Proforma continues to invest heavily in product development. ProVision 4.2, released in January, focused on enterprise-wide modeling capabilities.

ProVision 4.3 will be ready this quarter. This robust solution will provide features including comprehensive UML modelers to model system components that implement and integrate the business processes and requirements. Other enhanced capabilities will include multi-view modeling, complex association view, and a new XMI interface.

“These major releases have received positive feedback from both committed and prospective customers,” Pellegrino added. "We are confident that the upcoming launch of ProVision 4.3 will drive Proforma’s continued growth."
